With the support of the Board of Supervisors and Planning Commission, staff began the Zoning Ordinance update in 2017. The update includes review of all permitted uses, definitions, district regulations, and supplemental use regulations, among other components.
Input was gathered from the entire Department of Planning and Zoning, the Planning Commission and the Board of Supervisors through joint meetings with the Planning Commission. Presentations and draft versions of each completed section are available on the Zoning Ordinance Update project page.
Thanks to everyone who filled out one of the public input surveys!
Your input was presented to the Planning Commission and Board of Supervisors in June. The Planning Commission will hold a public hearing to review the proposed ordinance and gather additional public input on July 11, 2024. Additional public hearings may be needed if there are substantial changes made from what was advertised. Once the Planning Commission is ready to make a recommendation to the Board of Supervisors, the Board of Supervisors will hold a separate public hearing to vote to approve or deny the ordinance.
